  • WHAT IS SANDES APP?

The Government of India has introduced the Sandes app as an alternative to WhatsApp. However, people still have many questions about this. In fact, WhatsApp recently changed its data privacy rules after which Indian users strongly opposed it.

However, after all the protests, the company has postponed this update for some time. In such a situation, to ensure that India's data remains secure, the Government of India has brought a messaging app (Sandes Messaging App).

Indias own messaging apps" Sandes app" is now available for everyone. Previously, it was available only to government officials. This app has been launched by the National Informatics Center (NIC) and is aimed at promoting the Digital India (Atmanirbhar Bharat) initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi (Digital India) and Atmanirbhar Bharat. It is an end-to-end encrypted messaging app and is intended as an alternative to WhatsApp in India.

  • DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WHATSAPP AND SANDES APP?

Is Sandes app free? Yes, there is a free app for using messages. There are no ads in this app. Please tell that when you download it, the name of the app appears as GIMS (Government Instant Messaging System). But, the government is calling it Sandes, which basically means the message in Hindi. The message has the same interface as WhatsApp and you will get most WhatsApp-like features in this app.

The major difference between the two apps (the difference between WhatsApp and Sandes) is that the messaging app has to sign up using an email ID and not just the mobile number. However, it is currently limited to government officials only. At the same time, WhatsApp allows you to create an account using your number.

You will also see verified accounts on the Sandesh app, which are not on WhatsApp. The government's messaging app allows you to share videos or photos up to 500MB, which is much higher than WhatsApp. WhatsApp allows you to send videos with a limit of 16MB in size and regular files up to 100 MB.

In the Messages app, you can back up the chat on your device and choose an external location to save it. You also have the option to backup chat over email. If you are a WhatsApp user, then you know that this Facebook-owned app only allows you to backup chat from Google Drive on Android or iCloud on iOS.

The Sandesh app does not let you change your mobile number or email ID after creating an account. So, if you have a new mobile number or your email ID is lost, you will have to create a new account and all your chats will be lost. In contrast, WhatsApp also allows you to change the phone number without deleting your existing profile.

Currently, the Sandesh app does not have any fingerprint lock feature and screen lock feature that WhatsApp offers. Other privacy features such as cognitive keyboard mode, screen security (block screenshot feature) seen in the Signal app are also not available. Like the signal app, you will not know at what time the receiver reads your message.

But the Sandesh app lets you check the weather details of your city in the app. You can add priority or confidential labels to messages, which is interesting. There is also a section called "Gimoji", which displays the symbols used in official chat.

Broadcast message, status, missing message, forward message, delete message, archive chat and many more features are available on the messaging app. You can create a group and add at least 50 members. It also provides an option to sync message contacts and add new contacts that use the same platform. On this instant messaging app, anyone can add you to a group and there is no invitation system.

The limitation, however, is that the app does not allow the user to change their email ID or registered phone number. The user has to re-register as a new user if he wishes to change his registered email ID or phone number. Application.
